Dash and Hound Designs was created when Margo decided she wanted a creative outlet to explore her love of painting and illustration while bringing fun and charismatic designs to people’s lives.

When she was thinking of a focus for her new illustration business she couldn’t help but remember her first experience with entrepreneurship, which was back in high school. She and her friend - now business partner - Sammi competed in FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) and had developed a wrapping paper company called Woof Wrap. The wrapping paper had Margo's illustrations of various dog breeds paired with Sammi’s dog breed themed poems in a black and white tossed pattern.

Over a decade later, Margo still felt a strong affinity towards the pet niche and decided to focus on pets when creating the world of Dash and Hound Designs. The majority of designs are hand drawn or painted before she modifies them in the Adobe Suite and sends them to professional printing partners for production. Sammi officially joined the team after about a year and started helping out with the marketing, and social media. They now work closely on developing products and running the business.

Margo and Sammi have been friends since elementary school when their bus driver sat them next to each other because they were both quiet. They bonded over their love of rocks, and spent many recesses digging in the playground pea gravel for agates. Though they lived in different parts of the country since High School, they always remained close and made a point to visit each other often and do a lot of traveling together.

A little more about Margo...
Margo currently lives near Seattle, Washington and has a background in textile design. In her spare time she enjoys swing dancing, walking the beach, and playing with her dog niece (a mini dachshund named, Timotea).

A little more about Sammi...
Sammi currently lives outside of Denver, Colorado with her white fluffy cat, Cirrus. She has a background in aviation and GIS (Geographic Information Systems). In her spare time she enjoys hiking in the Rocky Mountains, flying, aerial yoga, and lyra.
